FIA Rally Star Driver Taylor Gill Selected for 2024 FIA Junior WRC Championship
Taylor Gill, the FIA Rally Star driver from Australia, has been chosen to participate in the upcoming FIA Junior WRC Championship season, providing them with even more transformative experiences. The decision was made during a recent meeting of the FIA Rally Star Committee, following their graduation from the FIA Rally Star Training Season.
The Committee evaluated the drivers’ performances during six rallies, including three FIA European Rally Championship rounds and three national-level events in May. They used a comprehensive and thorough analysis to do so. They also considered Gill’s potential to take the next step in their career, as they embark on an FIA Junior WRC campaign in 2024.
The FIA Rally Star operational team, Nicolas Klinger, Bryan To, and Project Leader Jérôme Roussel, along with Maciej Woda, whose M-Sport Poland organization prepared and maintained the Ford Fiesta Rally3s utilized in the Training Season, provided feedback to the FIA Rally Star Committee. FIA Deputy President for Sport Robert Reid chaired the meeting, which included Road Sport Director Andrew Wheatley and representatives from the WRC, Rally, Drivers, and Esports Commissions.
Following thorough deliberation, the Committee confirmed Gill’s selection to graduate to the FIA Junior WRC in 2024, where they will compete in a five-event competition using the latest-specification Fiesta Rally3 Evo equipped with official supplier Pirelli‘s tyres.
Selection of JWRC includes Jose Caparo (Peru), Romet Jürgenson (Estonia) and Max Smart (South Africa).
