It’s not often you see a WRC3 World Champion looking for new challenges. Yet that’s exactly what Diego Dominguez, fresh winner of the WRC3 2024 title, did as he participated in the Advanced Course on Asphalt with Maestro Vittorio Caneva.
Amid the technical corners and borderline braking of the Italian specials, Dominguez worked with his usual humility and the hunger of those who are not satisfied. Flanked by co-driver Rogelio Peñate, he underwent two intense days of training focused on reading the road, managing lean and absolute precision in corner entry and exit – all key aspects of our asphalt training method.
On the sidelines of the course, Vittorio Caneva emphasized:
Few people know it but this young man is the 2024 WRC3 World Champion, Diego Dominguez. He will participate in the City of Bassano Rally with his co-driver Rogelio Peñate in the Rally3 that he will also use at the upcoming WRC Central Europe. His asphalt preparation is not yet at the top and we do not expect anything but training on a surface not very common for him. However, I hope to have erudite and trained him well, cheer him on because he deserves it.
Dominguez, who has already shown excellent qualities on land, commented enthusiastically on his experience:
Back to school with the great Maestro Vittorio at Caneva Rally. After two long days we walk away with so many things learned, especially the way to see the road in a completely different way than before.

That’s right: the asphalt work has just begun for Diego, but the first step has been taken on the right foot. And around here, when the foot is right, it makes all the difference.
